Ralph Bazilio, CPA, CGFM is a Partner
of TCBA Watson Rice LLP and the President and Chief Operating Officer
of Thompson, Cobb, Bazilio & Associates, P.C. (TCBA). He
has assisted in expanding TCBA’s core audit and accounting services
to include management and IT consulting. Through his vision and
leadership, TCBA has grown to be among the top minority-owned accounting
firms in the nation.
Mr. Bazilio graduated summa cum laude from the
University of the District of Columbia. He became a Certified Public
Accountant in 1979, and is now licensed in the District of Columbia
and the States of Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. He
is also a Certified Government Financial Manager.
Mr. Bazilio is a leader in his profession, and
a mentor to those entering the field of accounting. For two years,
he served on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Council, the unit within the 350,000-member organization that sets
policy and direction for the profession. He also served for six years
as a member of the board of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs,
and was its president in 2000. He is also an active participant in
the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), and has been
a leader in the movement to encourage more African-Americans to become
certified public accountants. He received the Entrepreneur of the
Year Award in 2005 from NABA’s Division of Firms.
Mr. Bazilio is an active participant in the business
and political communities of Prince George County, Maryland, and
is a past Chairman of their Chamber of Commerce, which represents
more than 900 businesses in the County.
